⭐️ 4-Star Standout, Alabama’s No. 1 Recruit Cam Pritchett Declines $750K Transfer Offer, Commits to Thompson HS
In a move that’s sending shockwaves through the high school football landscape, 2027 4-star defensive end Cam Pritchett, Alabama’s No. 1 overall recruit, has turned down a reported $750,000 transfer offer to remain at Thompson High School.
The offer came from a major NIL collective in a state where high school athletes are permitted to profit immediately from Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities. Accepting the deal would have opened the door to substantial financial compensation and high-level brand endorsements right away.
But with NIL still restricted at the high school level in Alabama, staying home meant walking away from the money.
And Cam didn’t hesitate.
“I’m grateful and honored to even be considered,” Pritchett said. “But I truly believe God has a plan for my life and my career, and I want to let Him guide my path. My legacy matters to me, and I want it built on integrity, hard work, passion, and faith. I want to do that at Thompson.”
The decision followed extensive conversations with his family, Thompson’s coaching staff, and his mentor and trainer Coach Isaac Hadac.
More than just a recruiting headline, Pritchett’s choice speaks volumes about loyalty, belief, and long term vision.
Thompson High School, led by Head Coach Mark Freeman, has become one of the most dominant programs in the nation built on a foundation of discipline, faith, character, and championship expectations. The Warriors are fresh off another state title, and Pritchett remains locked in on helping lead them to even more success and another state championship.
Still only a junior, Cam Pritchett is already separating himself. He’s doing it not just with elite talent on the field, but with rare maturity and purpose off of it.
In an era where opportunities are bigger and decisions come faster, Cam made one thing clear:
Legacy comes first.
